The Kid - A black & white story with true colours of life.

The Kid is a masterpiece by Charlie Chaplin. It's a silent movie, yet it remains to be one of the classics of all time. The entire movie covers the life of an orphan kid and a man who took him to be his child and looked after him.

The movie gives a very emotional vibe to the viewer. Even though Charlie Chaplin is not the biological father of Jackie, the kid, they are so well attached to each other. The kid and Charlie Chaplin were leading a somewhat-poor life. Though they were happy. The woman, who left this child years ago in a cart, had become a star by the time the kid was 5. She felt regret for the same. These are the reasons for my heading of this article. A black and white story with true colours of life. Then the things happening were thrilling. The climax is a pleasant one. The kid and Chaplin are invited to the house of the woman(the kid's mother) and the story ends. The thrilling parts are the scenes of the mother finding this child.

I loved the plot as the theme influenced me a lot. Nowadays the people who adopt the children, might behave in an indecent manner. But here it shows the real love one should give to the child if he has agreed to look after the child. Chaplin has no much money to take care of him luxuriously. But they are satisfied because of the love they have to each other. Food for thought
This was Chaplin's first full length film as a director. The kid(Jackie Coogan) in this film is a cute little boy who has attracted everybody.
Please do watch those who haven't yet. It's on YouTube.
