'Happy Death Day' (2017) I Movie Review I Thriller I Dark Humour

It's time to watch some movies and here I am, giving you a black comedy. Happy Death Day was released in 2017. This is for everyone who asked me for a fun thriller-mystery movie.

Movie: Happy Death Day (2017)
Genre: Mystery, Horror
Theme: Thrilling birthday incident
IMDb rating: 6.6/10
My personal rating: 8/10

The theme really got me (and will get anyone excited). The central character, Tree (Theresa) gets murdered on her birthday. But the fun thing in Happy Death Day is that she gets to live her birthday over and over again! Hilarious, huh?

Now yes, you may be familiar with this topic from movies like Groundhog Day. Repetitive living of the same day can be confusing if you think about it. But when you see the movie, it is going to make you scream with a mix of laughter, shock, surprise and curiosity. The name of the movie even gives a little trigger of urge for viewers to watch it. Uncanny enough. There are a few scenes with 'potential' jump scares but they really set the mood. The movie keeps us on the edge of our seats, and that is the proof of their success. I would say 'Happy Death Day' is underrated: not much discussed like it deserves, so hope that my article brings some discussion about it.

In this movie directed by Christopher Landon, Jessica Roth plays the lead role as Theresa, a university student. The atmosphere of the movie is really enchanting. For those who like some mystery, Happy Death Day will charge them up. Besides, who wouldn't like some minutes of eager waiting and horror? Apart from mystery, there is also the importance of human relationships given by this movie. Friendship is an important element here.

Even the opening of the movie causes earnestness in the minds of the viewers. The characters have been developed really well throughout the movie. And there is enough comedy in the movie as well for you to have a couple of good laughs. The conversations in the movie are really well plotted which makes it interesting. Remember something; you have to watch this movie with utmost care into its detail. It is going to be a fun run, you guys!

This snap is from the movie and I found it really cute.

The first few minutes into the movie, it's okay to get a feeling that it's all normal in this movie but then, you are going to pray that the movie shouldn't end. After a while from the opening scene, the 'not-important' first few minutes are going to make complete sense. There are no pointless moments in this movie. I'm not giving you spoilers here, because it's so worth watching it knowing nothing!

Now, to note a very high-quality plus point, the voice modulation and the total dubbing of the central character is precise and to the point. Theresa's voice seems so very natural and flawless in such a way that the viewers are able to clearly hear her thoughts and words. Coming to her acting, Jessica did complete justice to Theresa in this movie. I felt as if she just transformed into the character instead of just acting it out.

So, grab some drinks and snacks to enjoy this fun ride!
