An Item to Keep Away from Dogs

I'm sure that at least some of you might have a "WHAT!" in your mind after reading the title. Yeah, that was exactly my reaction when I first knew this. Chocolates contain an element called theobromine which is the root cause of this. Theobromine doesn't work in the same way that it does in humans. The biological system of dogs isn't supported to properly absorb chocolate contents.

This is because humans have a good metabolism strength for chocolates but dogs don't. Theobromine is actually toxic. But since humans metabolize it faster, they are not under threat. Dogs metabolise it slowly, thus the toxicity overpowers. It can cause internal bleeding, heart attacks and seizures. However, the effects and hazards depend upon the quantity or amount of chocolates consumed by dogs.

Nevertheless, even a small bite of chocolate can cause illnesses like diarrhea and vomiting. Remember, dark chocolate contains more of theobromine thus even a small amount of chocolate can cause very serious symptoms or can be even fatal.
